Bundeli News :Gunjan Kala Sadan, Madhya Pradesh celebrated 'BUNDELI DIVAS' on 1st September 2010, at Chamber of Commerce, Jabalpur to commemorate the 95th birth anniversary of the late Educationist Dr. Puranchand Srivastav. On this occasion they felicitated people in the field of science, medicine, literature, theatre, social service, journalism, bravery and education for their contribution in their respective fields.

Mahatma Gandhi in University of NSW [UNSW], Sydney:Dr.Yadu Singh

Aproud moment for India and Indian Australians.
I was a witness for a great and proud moment which happened in University of New South Wales [UNSW], Sydney today. NSW Minister, The Hon Eric Roozendaal MLC, UNSW VC, Professor Frederick G Hilmer AO, and Indian Consul General, Mr Amit Dasgupta inaugurated a bust of Mahatma Gandhi. It is situated in the grounds in front of the UNSW library. Speeches were made on the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings. He was described as a man of peace, non-violence and wisdom. Two quotes which I liked most go like “An eye for an eye will render the world blind” and “Be the change you want to see in the world”.

In a grand yet simple ceremony, three students from Indian community were also awarded for their achievements in UNSW.



I remember vividly that Mr Gambhir Watts of Bhavan Australia has been working on a project to get Gandhi Ji’s statue in Sydney for a while but this project achieved a significant momentum after our energetic and “can do” Consul General, Mr Dasgupta joined the Indian Consulate in march last year. Thanks and gratitude are owed to both these gentlemen. Mr Dasgupta has indeed made us proud.



CG spoke about his visit to UNSW last year when Indian students’ issues were at its peak. He had a very productive discussion with UNSW. It was then that a decision was made to install The Gandhi bust in UNSW. CG had also donated hundreds of books on Mahatma Gandhi and India to UNSW library as gifts from India and people of India.



UNSW VC and other speakers spoke very highly of CG and described him as a man who gets things done. I felt that an apt description of our CG is what we call “Karm Yogi” [A man who believes in doing things and delivering results].



Apart from the Minister, CG and UNSW VC, this ceremony was also attended by other UNSW officials, Gambhir Watts, AIBC chairman [Mr Dipen Rughani], Harry Walia, Abbas Alvi, Nihal Agar, Rohitas Batta, Aruna Chandrala, Raj Datta, Neville Roach, Mrs Roach, Mala Mehta, N Saha, myself and many others.



Media was represented by Pawan Luthra [Indian Link], Aparna Vats [Voice of India] and Harmohan Walia [Hindi Gaurav].



It was a very pleasant atmosphere with beautiful music, drinks and finger food which were served after the inauguration.



This venue should become an important place for occasions like Gandhi Jayanti [Birth day celebration] on 2nd October. Inauguration of Gandhi Ji’s Bust should remind people about the principles and achievements of this great soul. It should also remind people that results can be achieved without violence, a message the whole world needs to listen more often today than any other time.

Cong looks to wrest back bragging rights over Bundelkhand package

NEW DELHI: The Centre has given Members of Parliament from Bundelkhand a key role in the multi-crore special package for the backward region, in what is a shrewd move by Congress to stop rival regimes in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh from running away with the credit for the special measure.







The Planning Commission has formed an advisory committee on implementation of the package with all MPs from Bundelkhand region across UP and MP in it. The committee will advise on the requirements of the region and suggest development strategy.






The new mechanism follows complaints from Congress that states were misusing package funds. After local MLAs met Rahul Gandhi to seek his intervention, AICC general secretary B K Hariprasad toured MP and gave an adverse report.






The co-option of local MPs as " advisors" is politically significant as it dilutes the imprimatur of state governments in implementation of the package.






Rahul had made Bundelkhand the showpiece of his "development" agenda and Congress made it known that the special package was his baby.






However, Congress has been feeling left out ever since the package was released as its state units failed to make its presence felt in the implementation.






Congress has been bristling at Mayawati regime's decision to keep political leaders away from the process. UP has limited consultations with the package monitor, National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA), to officials, and did not even invite the rural development ministry, which coordinates main development schemes.






The junior RD minister is an MP from Jhansi in Bundelkhand and exclusion of MPs/MLAs from the process is BSP chief's way of denying space to political rivals in the biggest attempt to improve life in the parched region.






While Shivraj Singh Chouhan regime in Bhopal called elected representatives for meeting with NRAA, BJP's numerical superiority in the state overwhelmed Congress in any jostling for credit.






Congress has sought to get back at rivals with the advisory body. Besides Plan panel deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia as its head, it will have Congress ministers V Narayanasamy and Pradeep Jain along with Plan panel members Mihir Shah and B K Chaturvedi. All political parties will be represented in the panel -- R K Singh Patel and Vijay Bahadur Singh (BSP), Ghanshyam Anuragi (SP), Virendra Kumar, Ashok Argal and Jeetendra Singh Bundela ( BJP).

उल्लेखनीय है कि पिछले पॉँच वर्षों के दौरान बुन्देलखण्ड में लाखों किसान सूखे से प्रभावित हुए थे। इसके चलते यहाँ से भारी पलायन तथा भुखमरी के साथ साथ किसानों द्वारा आत्म हत्याओं की ख़बरें देश दुनिया में छई हुई है सो आमिर खान ने "पीपली लाइव" फिल्म बना डाली। किन्तु फिल्म में बुन्देलखंड के किसानों के हालातों का प्रस्तुतीकरण केवल पैसा कमाने के लिए नहीं होना चाहिए अगर आमिर खान स्वयं को समाज सेवी और राष्ट्र भक्त समझते है तों आमिर खान को चहिये की स्वयं आगे आ के बुंदेलखंड के किसानो के लिए एक विकास निधी कोष वनाये और फ़िल्म शो के दोरान लोगो से अपील करे कि "सूखा प्रभावित किसान विकास निधी कोष " के लिए दान और सहयोग के लिए प्रेरित करे आमिर खान कि और से किसान रूपी नत्था,धनिया,बुधिया और माँ -बच्चो के देश के साथ दुनिया के लिए प्रेरणा होगी





"आमिर खान की हाल ही में रिलीज हुई फिल्म "पीपली लाइव" बुन्देलखंड के किसानो को लेकर बनी है।




बुंदेलखंड और बुन्देली संस्कृति तथा रहन सहन के साथ साथ पूरी तरह बुन्देली बोली ही प्रयुक्त की गयी है । उदाहारण के लिए नत्था की पत्नी धनिया अपने जेठ बुधिया से पूछती है " काये कछू भओ का आज ?" तो उत्तर में बुधिया कहता है कि " पईसा तौ मिले नैयाँ " । कहने का तात्पर्य पात्रों के बीच बातचीत में ठेठ बुन्देली ही प्रयुक्त की गयी है। इतना ही नहीं बुंदेलखंड को लेकर केंद्र तथा राज्य सरकारों के बीच जो वाकयुद्ध पिछले कुछ वर्षों से चल रहा है उसको भी इस फिल्म में भी पूरी तरह समाहित किया गया है ।

"महगाई मारें जात है " नामक चर्चित गाना बुन्देली साज-बाज के साथ गाया गया एक बुन्देली लोक गीत है । उल्लेखनीय है कि पिछले पॉँच वर्षों के दौरान बुन्देलखण्ड में लाखों किसान सूखे से प्रभावित हुए थे। इसके चलते यहाँ से भारी पलायन तथा भुखमरी के साथ साथ किसानों द्वारा आत्म हत्याओं की ख़बरें देश दुनिया तक पहुंची थी । इसी विषय को लेकर आमिर खान ने "पीपली लाइव" फिल्म बना डाली।

Bill Gates' visit: Why only Amethi, Mr Rahul Gandhi? बीजेपी

BJP state president Surya Pratap Shahi took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for taking Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates to his Parliamantary constituency of Amethi and said he had to rather take the IT Czar to under-developed Bundhelkhand region.

"One of the richest men of the world, Bill Gates, recently visited Amethi. If the Congress leaders were so concerned about the development of the state, Rahul should have taken him to Bundelkhand region, which is backward and host of problems exist there," Shahi said.


He alleged that the agenda of Congress president Sonia Gandhis and Rahul Gandhi was limited to their parliamentary constituencies of Rae Bareli and Amethi.


"They cannot see poverty anywhere else in the state," he said adding the Congress, which ruled the state for 40 years, was responsible for its backwardness.


Bill Gates had visited Amethi on May 11.

States loath to sharing credit with UPA govt for schemes:TOI

NEW DELHI: States are getting increasingly jittery over central ministers seeking part of the glory on their home turf, with Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh acting to restrain their footprints outside Delhi.

UP chief minister Mayawati has said "no" to elected representatives attending a review meeting on implementation of central relief package for Bundelkhand on Friday. In a similar move, Madhya Pradesh has issued an order that central ministers and VVIPs should take permission to attend meetings which relate to the state or its schemes.

While suprising, it marks an eagerness among non-Congress states to assert their intellectual property rights on schemes and assets in the face of attempts by UPA members to score a point.

National Rainfed Area Authority chief J S Samra and Planning Commission member-secretary Sudha Pillai will visit Jhansi on Friday to check the implementation of UP part of Rs 7,000 crore package spanning 13 districts of UP and MP.

UP's decision to restrict Friday's meeting to officials has surprised central monitors. While it is a state's prerogative to decide upon the invitees, plan panel sources said elected members, who are part of district planning committees, help in holistic approach to problems.

It is in stark contrast to the MP leg of the review in Sagar last month where officials and elected members were invited in two sessions.

At the same time, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan regime in MP has ordered that central representatives should take permission for functions relating to the state.

In a circular to DMs and department heads on April 24, it said central ministers and VVIPs were holding functions or meetings with district officials without the state's knowledge. "It has been decided that functions, which relate to the state or its schemes, should be held only after permission from state government," the circular said.

While Chouhan may be looking to check MP-based ministers like Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Arun Yadav and Kantilal Bhuria, Mayawati appears to be balancing her renewed focus on development with the political objective of not giving a foothold to Congress-led Centre in the war for credits.

Rahul Gandhi's emergence on `battlefield Bundelkhand' saw Congress cite the relief package as a sign of its commitment to the backward region. An invitation to MPs and MLAs for the review would have put Rahul's key aide from Bundelkhand, Pradeep Jain, MoS in union rural development ministry, and Samajwadi Party MPs like Ghanshyam Anuragi and R K Singh Patel in the spotlight.

But Mayawati's strategy will not end the tussle over Bundelkhand as Centre's imprimatur on the relief package is permanent, with Centre having monitoring rights. Sources said after the Jhansi meeting on Friday, the NRAA teams will visit every district to get a first-hand account on the package.

Rahul's tour to Bundelkhand, which sources said may happen later, may only stoke the tussle further.

Some have called him “inexperienced,” others say he is a “fresh breath of air.” People may disagree on the effect that Rahul Gandhi, scion of the Nehru-Gandhi political dynasty and a key member in the ruling Congress Party, is having on Indian politics. But there’s one responsibility he seems to be carrying out quite dutifully: India tour guide.

His latest guest: Microsoft Corp. chairman Bill Gates, who is now one of the world’s biggest philanthropists. Mr. Gates accompanied Mr. Gandhi, an MP, on a visit to his constituency of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Mr. Gates already has strong ties with India through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which funds programs in HIV prevention and maternal health in the country.

Mr. Gandhi, the son of slain former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Congress Party chief Sonia Gandhi, has taken a much more active role in politics as he approaches his 40th birthday, including through field trips around Uttar Pradesh.

In January last year, Mr. Gandhi visited and stayed in the house of a Dalit family in a village called Simara. On that trip he was accompanied by British foreign secretary David Miliband. Unfortunately, the visit meant to highlight the impoverishment of people at the bottom of the caste hierarchy was overshadowed by Mr. Miliband’s remarks on Kashmir. (Mr. Miliband has quite recovered from that trip and on Tuesday Sky News said he is the bookie favorite to succeed Gordon Brown as Labor leader).

In his short political career, Mr. Gandhi has visibly concentrated on reaching out to the “aam aadmi,” or “common man,” who is frequently mentioned in Congress Party campaigns. Mr. Gandhi made a point of visiting the drought-hit Bundelkhand region in 2008 and in February this year broke away from his security cordon while on a visit in Mumbai and hopped on to a local train.

The “aam aadmi” seems to be embracing the attention — in national elections last year Mr. Gandhi’s party won many more seats in Uttar Pradesh than it had in the previous general elections. But just what does the “aam aadmi” make of his foreign entourage?

बुन्देली भाषा का उद्भव

वैदिक संस्कृति अन्तर्देशीय इन्डो योरोपियन भाषा थी। इसका प्रभाव व्यापक रुप से फारसी, लैटिन, ग्रीक भाषाओं को उत्पत्ति एवं विकास पथ पर पड़ा। भारत वर्ष छठी शती इसा पूर्व १६ महाजन पदों में विभाजित था। जनपदीय भाषा ने वैदिक संस्कृति का स्वरुप ग्रहण किया तथा अन्तर्जनपदीय भाषा को प्रभावित करने लगी। इसको व्यवस्थित करने हेतु व्याकरणाचार्य पाणिनी ने अष्टाध्यायी की रचना चौथी शती ईसापूर्व में की। इस समय पाली एवं प्राकृत भाषाएं जन भाषा के रुप में प्रचलित थीं। गौतम बुद्ध एवं महावीर स्वामी ने क्रमशः बौद्ध एवं जैन धर्म का प्रसार इन माध्यमों से जन मानस में किया।



महाकाव्य काल के दो प्रसिद्ध ग्रन्थ रामायण एवं महाभारत हैं। दोनों ग्रंथों के रचयिता बुन्देलखण्ड की धरती से जुड़े हुए थे। अतः"चित्रकूट गिरि रम्ये नाना शास्र विशारद:' उक्ति स्वभाविक थी। चेदि, दशार्ण एवं कारुष से वर्तमान बुन्देलखण्ड आबद्ध था। यहां पर अनेक जनजातियां निवास करती थीं। इनमें कोल, निषाद, पुलिन्द, किराद, नाग, सभी की अपनी स्वतंत्र भाषाएं थी। जो विचारों अभिव्यक्तियों की माध्यम थीं। संस्कृत विद्वानों की भाषा थी। अन्तर जन्मपदीय भाषा "विन्ध्येली' थी जिसका अर्थ समृद्धवान, महानता को धरण करने वाला है। भरतमुनि के नाट्य शास्र में इस बोली का उल्लेख प्राप्त है "शबर, भील, चाण्डाल, सजर, द्रविड़ोद्भवा, हीना वने वारणम् व विभाषा नाटकम् स्मृतम्' से बनाफरी का अभिप्रेत है। संस्कृत भाषा के वद्रोह स्वरुप प्राकृत एवं अपभ्रंश भाषाओं का विकास हुआ। इनमें देशज शब्दों की बहुलता थी।



हेमचन्द्र सूरि ने पामर जनों में प्रचलित प्राकृत अपभ्रंश का व्याकरण दशवी शती में लिखा। मध्यदेशीय भाषा का विकास इस काल में हो रहा था। हेमचन्द्र के कोश में "विन्ध्येली' के अनेक शब्दों के निघंटु प्राप्त हैं। बारहवीं सदी में दामोदर पंडित ने "उक्ति व्यक्ति प्रकरण' की रचना की। इसमें पुरानी अवधी तथा शौरसेनी - ब्रज - के अनेक शब्दों का उल्लेख प्राप्त है। इसी काल में अर्थात एक हजार ईस्वी में बुन्देली पूर्व अपभ्रंश के उदाहरण प्राप्त होते हैं - डॉ. आर. मिशल - इसमें देशज शब्दों की बहुलता थी। पं. किशोरी लाल वाजपेयी, लिखित हिन्दी "शब्दानुशासन' के अनुसार "हिन्दी एक स्वतंत्र भाषा है' उसकी प्रकृति संस्कृत तथा अपभ्रंश से भिन्न है। बुन्देली की माता प्राकृत - शौरसेनी - तथा पिता संस्कृत भाषा है। दोनों भाषाओं में जन्मने के उपरांत भी बुन्देली भाषा की अपनी चाल, अपनी प्रकृति तथा वाक्य विन्यास को अपनी मौलिक शैली है। हिन्दी प्राकृत की अपेक्षा संस्कृत के निकट है। मघ्यदेशीय भाषा का प्रभुत्व अविच्छन्न रुप से ईसा की प्रथम सहस्राब्दी के सारे काल में और इसके पूर्व कायम रहा। नाथ तथा नाग पन्थों के सिद्धों ने जिस भाषा का प्रयोग किया गया उसके स्वरुप अलग-अलग जनपदों में भिन्न भिन्न थे। वह देशज प्रधान लोकीभाषा थी। हिन्दी के आदि काल में भाषा महत्व है। आदिकाल के काव्य भाषा में नाथपंथी की जो रचनाएं प्राप्त हैं वे भाषा काव्य की प्रथम सीढ़ी को ज्ञापित करती हैं। इसके पूर्व भी भवभूति "उत्तर रामचरित' के ग्रामीणजनों की भाषा "विन्ध्येली' - प्राचीन बुन्देली - ही थी।


बुन्देलखण्ड की पाटी पद्धति में सात स्वर तथा ४५ व्यंजन हैं। "कातन्त्र व्याकरण' ने संस्कृत के सरलीकरण प्रक्रिया में सहयोग दिया। बुन्देली पाटी की शुरुआत "ओना मासी घ मौखिक पाठ से प्रारम्भ हुई। विदुर नीति के श्लोक "विन्नायके' तथा चाणक्य नीति "चन्नायके' के रुप में याद कराए जाने लगे। "वणिक प्रिया' के गणित के सूत्र रटाए गए। " नमः सिद्ध मने' ने श्री गणेशाय नमः का स्थान ले लिया। कायस्थों तथा वैश्यों ने इस भाषा को व्यवहारिक स्वरुप प्रदान किया, उनकी लिपि मुड़िया - निम्न मात्रा विहीन - थी। "स्वर बैया' से अक्षर तथा मात्रा ज्ञान कराया गया। "चली चली बिजन वखों आई'। "कां से आई क का ल्याई' वाक्य विन्यास मौलिक थे। प्राचीन बुन्देली "विन्ध्येली' के कलापी सूत्र काल्पी में प्राप्त हुए हैं।



संभवतः चन्देल नरेश गण्डदेव - सन् ९४० से ९९९ ई. - तथा उसके उत्तराधिकारी विद्याधर - ९९९ ई. से १०२५ ई. के काल में भाषा - बुन्देली का प्रारम्भिक रुप - में महमूद गजनवी की प्रशंसा की कतिपय पंक्तियां "भाषा' में लिखी गई। भाषा का विकास रासो काव्य धारा के माध्यम से विकसित हुआ। जगनिक आल्हाखण्ड तथ्ज्ञा परमाल रासो प्रौढ़ भाषा की रचनाएं हैं।

मुक्तक परम्परा की शुरुआत कालान्त में हुई। वृजभाषा का उद्भव "बांगुरु' से हुआ। देशी भाषा "उपभयत उज्जवल' - कवि स्वायम्भू - कथा काव्य में प्रयुक्त हुई। इनमें विष्णुदास कृत महाभारत कथा - पाण्डव चरित्र - मदन सिंह रचित "कृष्ण लीला', सधारु रचित "प्रद्युम्न चरित' आदिकाल की रचनाएं मानी जाती हैं। भाषा काव्य की परम्परा दशवीं शती से प्रारम्भ हो गई थी। बुन्देली के आदि कवि के रुप में प्राप्त सामग्री के आधार पर जगनिक एवं विष्णुदास सर्वमान्य हैं जो बुन्देली की समस्त विशेषताओं से मण्डित हैं। इन कवियों ने बुन्देलखण्ड में दो महत्वपूर्ण केन्द्रों को सुशोभित किया - व्रज - और अवधी । युगीन अपेक्षाओं के अनुरुप काव्य रचना हुई।
